Alarm Monitoring

Masterguard will take care of all your monitoring needs. We can help you with a variety of levels of security and fire alarm monitoring, depending on the requirements for your premises.

We can help you even when you don’t have a phone line for the alarm to be monitored through, by using RadioNet or GPRS monitoring. Due to the roll out of the fibre network throughout the country, many homes are being disconnected from the traditional copper phone network. We can provide a simple IP solution to ensure your property is still fully monitored over fibre.

We  continuously check and monitor the ‘health’ of your alarm system and its ability to send signals and will alert you automatically if we receive any defect signals, so you can get the system checked or serviced.

Our monitoring service includes;
  • free, secure  log-in access to our monitoring software to enable you to check on the status of your alarm, check the alarm history and update response instructions
  • free regular alarm history reports so that you can see what is happening with your alarm
  • free Smartphone App so you can check on the status of your alarm from anywhere at anytime.
  • ability to set and unset your alarm remotely with the addition of a GPRS dialler or Radionet unit to your alarm

Monitoring Services

Critical monitoring

Monitoring of all alarm signals but responding only to critical signals.  Critical signals that will be actioned include alarm activations, tamper signals, low battery and daily communications test failures.

Supervised monitoring

Includes monitoring of all critical signals (as above) and a night closing check to ensure the alarm system is armed at a predetermined time each day.

Comprehensive monitoring

Includes monitoring of all critical signals as well as monitoring arming/disarming of the alarm system in accordance with time schedules and controlled entry.  We ensure persons entering the site outside of normal hours are authorised to do so.

Fire alarm monitoring

We offer monitoring of fire alarms with a direct connection to the fire service (PFA Monitoring).  This is a specialised service not offered by all companies and is quite different to standard alarm monitoring where the signals go to a monitoring centre and then the fire service is manually called by an operator. It means your building is continuously monitored and any fire signals are passed directly to Fire Emergency New Zealand.
Another less expensive option (if PFA monitoring is not required) is to link the fire alarm to your security alarm and monitor it via your security alarm monitoring with no additional monthly monitoring cost.  Masterguard can arrange this for you and assist you to determine if this may be right for you.
The benefits of monitoring:
  • Monitoring ensures you get the most out of your alarm system.
  • You are not reliant on the intervention of neighbours, who may either be away or not prepared to put themselves at risk in the event of your alarm being activated.
  • You know that when you are not on site, the monitoring centre will know what is happening and can advise you of any issues.
  • Many insurance companies now require business premises to have their alarm monitored and offer premium discounts to residential customers with monitored alarms.
  • The information we receive automatically from your alarm gives us the ability to be proactive about attending to possible issues before they cost you money.
