Fire ExtinguishersWe sell, service and recharge all types of fire extinguishers. As part of a comprehensive fire safety plan, fire extinguishers play an important part in reducing property damage and injury during a fire. Our history in the fire extinguisher market spans more than 20 years. With a core reputation for product reliability and excellence, we continue to provide an array of suppression product lines for commercial, industrial, rural and residential needs. All of our extinguishers comply with NZS 4503:2005. We can provide you with a range of extinguishers including:
|
ServicingFor your fire extinguisher, or fire blanket to be compliant with NZS 4503:2005 it is required to be serviced at least every 12 months. It is also required to be pressure tested once every 5 years. To record that the servicing and pressure testing is being completed at regular intervals the extinguisher should have a yellow service tag attached to it - if it doesn't then technically it does not comply with the standard.
Masterguard provides a mobile service where we can come to your farm, business or commercial site, service your extinguishers and ensure that your signage is correct and that you have the correct extinguishers in the appropriate locations (including work vehicles). |
Training
We also provide hands-on, practical fire extinguisher training for groups of up to 10 people at a time. As part of the training we explain how to use an extinguisher, the different types of fires and which extinguishers are appropriate to be used, and give the participants the chance to use an extinguisher to put out a small controlled fire.

Other Fire Safety Products
Fire BlanketsFire blankets are supplied in plastic sleeves with metal eyelets for fixing to a wall and pull-down tags for easy release. Fire blankets are used for covering cooking-related fires, for wrapping around a person to smother a clothing fire or using as a cover to escape through flames.
|
Long-Life Smoke AlarmsSmoke detectors are important premise safety tools because they increase your chance of escaping from a premise fire. Properly functioning detectors give you an early warning that makes escape more likely, but the unit is more than just an alarm.
|
Signage In commercial buildings just having fire extinguishers is not sufficient to ensure compliance. The extinguishers have to be located correctly and have the appropriate signage. Masterguard has a full range of signage and can provide advice about what is required to ensure your business is compliant. |
